CMAA’s 1st Vice President, H.E. Senior Minister Serei Kosal, warmly welcomed Ms Megan Burke, Director of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines, at a meeting held to discuss Cambodia’s commitment to clearing landmines and cluster munitions.

 

 

H.E. Serei Kosal provided an update on mine action progress in Cambodia, and reported that Cambodia’s mission is to release all known landmine and cluster munition-contamination areas by 2025. To achieve this, funding of around 407 million dollars U.S. will be needed.

 

 

Ms Burke said that she will help lobby international agencies and donor countries in support of mine action for human development projects in Cambodia when she attends the meeting cooperating to implement the Convention on Cluster Munitions, Bangkok, from 16-17 March 2017.
