The Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA) is the government body established by Royal Decree in September 2000 to regulate mine action activities in Cambodia. The CMAA develops policy guidelines and strategic plans for mine action, and monitors activities to ensure compliance with national standards. The CMAA also coordinates national and international resource mobilization and represents the Royal Government of Cambodia in international mine action forums. The Prime Minister is the President of the CMAA, assisted by a Vice President and a Secretary-General who manages the CMAA's day-to-day operations. The Secretary-General also chairs regular meetings with operators and stakeholders to develop policies and strategic action plans. Ministers and Secretaries of State from relevant ministries and institutions are members of the CMAA as well. The CMAA Secretariat-General works in the areas of Regulation and Monitoring, Socio-economic Planning, Database Management, Victim Assistance, and Mine Risk Education. |
